Milopkl – Extreme Order of Existence

Posted on August 27, 2023 by deshift00

Hailing from the outbacks of Australia comes the extreme death thrash assault of Milopkl. For years now Milo has been making waves across the underground, with plenty of hard hitting releases under his belt. This latest one titled, Extreme Order of Existence is just another masterful addition to his already strong line up. This latest release from Milo is a perfect death thrash assault with old school sensibilities that all extreme metal fans will fall in love with I’m sure.

Sometimes with one man bands, there’s usually an aspect of the music that tends to be lacking or left a little behind. After all, it is hard for one man to master all the instruments in such an extreme and technically genre like death/thrash can be. But Milo proves that its possible to have mastered it all. When breaking down this album piece by piece, from the guitars, to the drums to the vocals, there’s nothing lacking. The riffs are heavy and aggressive, yet catchy and very melodic at times with a huge emphasis on just how wicked the guitar solos can sound. The drums are also incredibly punchy and played with such precision and skill, it kinda blows my mind that all of this was done by one. On top of that the production style is very pure, and crisp, but still having this sort of edge that doesn’t take away from the raw approach that Milo has. While the lyrics are somewhat simplistic and kinda par of the course given the genre, the delivery that Milo has is just top notch. The harsh aggression when delivering the lyrics just helps to tie everything together in a strong punch to the face.

Going back over his previous releases its easy to tell that Extreme Order of Existence is probably his best release to date. All of his time invested in these projects that he has been apart of over the years have culminated to this point and all of Milo’s skills and talent are on display with this release. His old school approach yet modern touch is such a breath of fresh air for the thrash genre that has grown so stale over the years, that someone like Milo can come along and really revitalize the sound and truly push it forward in a constructive way that doesn’t take away from the true and honest roots of it all.

Given the quality of this release it’d be hard for me not to suggest this to every fan of extreme metal out there. The precision and quality of this release is nothing to be scoffed at and should be enjoyed by all. A must listen and definitely a contender for the album of the year list for sure.
